A System Software Validation Engineer Debugs software and hardware products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and writing defects. Analyzes test results to ensure correct functionality, determines root causes of failures, and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers in the resolution of problems. Provides feedback to the development team while working on open defects. Troubleshoots Software (SW), Hardware (HW), operating systems, and network connectivity.

This position will be responsible for completing system and device-level certifications, as well as Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) Solution certifications, using the Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL) test kit. You will also complete Linux OS certifications using the test kit provided by each distro.

Qualifications

You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum qualifications

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 3+ months of experience in:

• Microsoft Windows and/or Linux client/server operating systems.

• Validation methodologies, concepts, and/or processes.

• Debugging and root-causing software, hardware, and/or network issues.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft network infrastructure such as Active Directory (AD), Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name Service (DNS), PreBoot Execution Environment (PXE), etc.

• Experience with Intel Architecture.

• Software development experience in C/C++, C Sharp, or Java.

• Microsoft PowerShell experience.

• Microsoft Windows WHQL certification experience.

• Read hardware schematics experience.
