What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure: This position performs installation and commissioning of security systems, including loading software programs and implementing modifications. Systems include access control systems, VMS systems, Intrusion systems and Intercom or other communication systems. You will communicate design details to customers, installation and service teams, and subcontractors. You will also collaborate with other trades to successfully complete projects while exceeding customers’ expectations. Senior technicians will mentor and provide on-the-job training to less-experienced technicians including apprentices enrolled in the LEA program for Oregon. Responsibilities: Level I Technicians Assist with the commissioning of new security systems on customer sites. Document commissioning details; communicate deficiencies and progress. Assist with testing and inspecting of existing security systems. Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader. Complete commissioning within planned timelines. Submit accurate time and expense logs. Level II and Senior Technicians Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance: Run routine reports to review system operation. Participate in final inspection and testing. Support customer acceptance. Assist with customer training on system operations. Complete and submit routine written reports. Provide plans and security system documents to engineering for as-built drawings. Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation. Project Site Communication and Coordination: May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate start-up services as needed. Mentor less experienced technicians Qualifications: Where permitted by applicable law, Siemens may require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on job requirements, and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reasons. High school diploma or state-recognized GED required; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred Proven electro-mechanical aptitude (based on previous experience and/or education) with basic knowledge of network communications components and operating systems management required for Level I; Experience installing and servicing security systems with an understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, basic switch/router/firewall principles, and resolutions to IP video network transmission quality issues required for Level II and Senior.
