Job Description

This position is associated with the sale of Intel's NAND memory and storage business to SK Hynix (You can read more about the transaction in the press release - https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2020/10/nand-memory-news-q-a.pdf). The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.

This position aligns to that transaction, which includes the 3DNAND enterprise and client SSD business. Transition is expected to close in late 2022, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK Hynix.

The System Validation Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Integrating and debugging software across the stack for a specific product, platform, feature, or technology throughout the product lifecycle, including pre-silicon development, power on, and/or post-silicon development.
  • Debugging software across multiple layers of the software stack including firmware, drivers, and operating systems.
  • Developing a software debug plan and associated methodologies.
  • Analyzing issues, managing sightings from various validation streams, determining root cause, and driving or developing improvements. Driving project stress and stability and supports power, performance, and key task forces.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or STEM related field. Documentation related to bachelor's degree completion will be required
  • 4+ years of experience in either one of the following areas:
    • Debugging hardware or software issues on Storage, Server, Platform or similar environments.
    • Development and/or debug in Linux or Windows environments.
    • Validation disciplines experience, system/platform level debug, or root cause isolation methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in either of the following areas:
    • Low level code development/Debug for OS Drivers, FW, or Kernel. 
    • PCIe or NVMe protocol and debug (including debug tools and protocol analyzers).
    • NAND memory validation.
    • Experience with industry specifications such as PCIe NVME, OPAL, eSSC.
    • PC Platform, BIOS, Drivers, or IO technologies.
    • Continuous integration and agile methodologies.
