Siemens are establishing a project delivery capability in Ireland and this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new project team. We are recruiting for a Systems Engineering MES Team Leader, who will be fully responsible for successful execution of Systems Engineering Projects in an MES & Pharmaceutical environment. As such you will have the opportunity to mould and shape the team and be responsible for driving them to success, working alongside our well-established project delivery capability in the UK. Ireland is one of the leading locations for the pharmaceutical industry in Europe and they are the largest exporter of pharmaceuticals in the EU; Pharmaceuticals account for 50% of all exports from Ireland. Working from our offices in Dublin, the team will have a primary responsibility for delivering projects into the pharmaceutical sector, which is something Siemens have a wealth of experience doing. From our Siemens Ltd entity in Ireland, we are looking to recruit an experienced Systems MES Engineering Team Leader. The role will report to the Engineering Manager, accountable for the production and delivery of the technical solution, leading a team of MES engineers across multiple projects. Liaising with the project manager and project team members. Providing consulting services to internal engineering and external partners. The role is based in our office in Dublin, however, we have a brilliant flexible working policy at Siemens and encourage flexible working when appropriate. What are my responsibilities? • Line Management of Assigned Engineering Staff • To provide technical leadership, be a point of technical contact and work in partnership with the project management team across multiple projects • Leads, develops and motivates a group of dedicated qualified employees and professionals functionally to achieve the targets set. • Assist with the production of engineering proposals and be involved in the writing/co-ordination of Functional Design Specifications and associated documents • Ensures adherence to defined guidelines, processes and procedures, for the Engineering Team assigned. • Coordinates Engineering activities performed by a team of professionals and technicians and controls execution according to the organizational guidelines. • Provides suitable work environment and implements people management processes. • Plan and allocate resources and budgets to Engineering projects or activities. • Keep up-to-date with technologies to ensure the appropriate solutions are utilised to maximise business benefits. • Identify training needs of team members • Support proposal and sales activities • Responsible for identifying technology related risks to the project. • To assist other departments with general duties as required by senior management. • Work at all times in line with current EHS legislation and the company policies and procedures to maintain own, team and public safety. What are my project responsibilities? • Lead & own the process of preparation of design deliverables with due consideration to applicable codes & Standards • Monitor Budget Compliance of design deliverables • Be responsible for change management and trend notifications; prior to release capture all changes / modifications in the deliverables to contract. • Ensure appropriate checking & review of all documents / drawings before release • Ensure testing of all software and systems configuration meets client’s requirement and demonstrates compliance to contract. • Comply with all of Siemens procedures, i.e. ISO9000 and/or any other standards imposed by the client through the contract. • Attend project review meetings • Travel and commission the equipment at client sites whether in Ireland, the UK or as required by the project • Ensure that all activities are co-ordinated with the designated project manager What do I need to qualify for this job? • Degree or equivalent in chemical, electrical, controls, or automation engineering. • Experience of working within an MES & Pharmaceutical environment. • A proven track-record as Senior Engineer • Knowledge of Siemens Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Opcenter Execution Pharma/ Process would be an advantage. • Working and executing projects in an agile environment would also be an advantage.
