We are currently seeking a qualified hybrid systems and process engineer for our Point of Care (POC) diagnostics assay development group. This is a highly technical role supporting several multi-disciplinary teams, working on conceptualization, R&D, and realization of new diagnostic assay formats. You will be involved in developing specifications, concept/system architecture, engineering and design, and build/testing activities with our engineering and scientific functions. Job Responsibilities To be successful in this role you will have technical accountability for prototype design and realization. As the cross-discipline technical authority, you would be responsible for the project deliverables meeting requirements. Other responsibilities include: Develop and specify operational, functional, and design requirements to meet customer needs • Customer interactions and translation of customer needs to product/project requirements • Promote cross-discipline discussion and trade-offs • Perform simulations and analyses • Investigate applicable normative requirements (ISO, CE, UL, RoHS, WEEE, etc.) as required • Define product architectures with an emphasis on interfaces Develop and specify prototype manufacturing processes, including: • Prospective manufacturing opportunities and risks, including developing, optimizing, and verifying pilot plant operations • Preliminary manufacturing control system hierarchies that incorporate key quality attributes linked to design intent Work with engineering discipline leads to build engineering project plans • Lead cross-functional teams in project execution • Coordinate cross-discipline analyses and assessments • Safety Analysis • Identification of technical risk areas and mitigation strategies • Design for X (DFX) Coordinate the integration, debug, and test of engineering prototypes Responsible for the test strategy • Coordinate the development of test plans and procedures • Oversee both verification and validation testing, as necessary Requisite Skills and Qualifications • Multi-discipline product development experience on complex systems • Team and technical leadership experience • Excellent written and verbal skills · BS in engineering or related discipline with biological, biomedical, or biochemistry experience · Minimum 3 years’ experience in research, development, or process/design engineering in related field or discipline Siemens Healthineers has recently announced the next steps in our continued commitment to prioritize colleague health, comply with customer/business partner requirements, and help preserve our business continuity.
