About the opportunity

Purpose of your role

The position is for a junior team leader who has Java web development background. The candidate should be an expert in web technologies specifically Spring, Java, micro-service. Meanwhile candidate should have basic management skill to run a 3-4 delivery team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end development of individual modules within the application which would involve interaction with the business and system analysts for understanding the requirements followed by design, development and unit testing of the software. The candidate is expected to have fluent oral/reading English skill.

The candidate is expected to display professional ethics in his/her approach to work and exhibit a high level ownership within a demanding working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume complete execution responsibility of small size project independently
• Understand business requirements through direct interaction and define the scope of work
• Understand J2EE, Spring, Micro-service development
• Understand web application development & go live cycle
• Procedural development responsive web design.
• Ensure that work performed within the group is supportable and completed within the overall IT strategy of FIL
• Ensure that work is completed to a sufficient level of quality
• Ensure adherence to change management processes and assist in facilitating the ongoing review and enhancement of these processes.
• Works under minimal supervision to meet goals set by management
• Works with FIL global team under different time zone
• Maintain Quality documents and follow the process defied for development

Experience and Qualifications Required

• Essential skills
• At least 7 years JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3 development experience
• At least 7 years Java Web application development experience
• Fluent oral/reading/writing English skill
• Experience on front-end development tools (Node, NPM, Webpack) is nice to have
• Familiar with CI/CD process based on Jenkins / Bamboo
• Familiar with Agile delivery model and tools (JIRA, Confluence, GIT, Fisheye, Sonar)
• Team work spirit is required.
• Desirable skills
• Experience & good understanding of full development life cycle
• Experience on production support
• Experience on Spring Restful API development
• Experience on React / React Native development
