Description of Operation Truck and Buses
As part of the Strategy & Innovation department, you are part of the Innovation Strategy team. You and your team validate & incubate promising new business ideas from the angles of technical feasibility, business viability and customer desirability, using an agile business development framework. You iteratively develop prototypes and test them with customers, all with the license to fail fast but learn & find solutions quickly. The result will be validated and tested concepts that you pitch to the top management in order to trigger their implementation.
 
 
Your Roles and Tasks - Market Intelligence role
 
 
Main Task 1: Market Research & Strategy support (80%)
 
- Analyze trends & developments in the automotive/mobility industry with focus on DTA markets

- Recommend actions to capitalize on opportunities and help direct strategy to assist the company in reaching its revenue targets

- Gather and evaluate relevant market and competitor information to review market position and determine threats

- Conduct ad hoc analysis to get market insights

- Drives identification, implementation and/or integration of analytic methods and assessments of tools

- Coordinates with internal stakeholders to understand availability of internal data, and potential applications in supporting strategy development

- Collects and analyze business & market data and turns it into insights to support strategy, innovation and business decisions

Main Task 2: Continuous Improvement Initiatives (20%)
 
- Enhance sophistication of research tools and communication processes in order to improve stakeholder's value

 

Practical knowledge and experiences
- Market Intelligence/Analytics expertise in the automotive/mobility environment

- Excellent academic degree preferably in market research or economics; MBA or PhD is a plus

- Prior professional experience in intelligence, market research, consulting, or strategy; preferably in the automotive industry

- Experience working abroad or in an international working environment

 
Personal skill requirement
- Ability to grasp complex scenarios and carve out business opportunities

- Analytical skills to perform market analysis

- Ability to work effectively with and communicate complex ideas to people at all levels in an organization

- Initiative taker, eager to break new ground

- Clear understanding of key business issues and technology offerings

Language skills
- English (required)

- Japanese (strongly recommended)
