About the Team:
Employees in the Technology Development Group are part of a worldwide network of design, development, manufacturing, and assembly/test facilities, all focused on utilizing the power of Moore's Law to bring smart, connected devices to every person on Earth.
You will be working in a dynamic team environment that develops and applies physics-based modeling tools for simulating the creation and behavior of microelectronic devices and structures on Intel's microprocessors.
As a Software / Modeling Engineer-Returnship your responsibilities will include but not be limited to :
- Development of advanced software libraries and applications involving numerical process modeling, and/or geometry, meshing and GUI infrastructure.
- Areas of expertise that are applicable to this position depend on the subgroup and include:
- Geometry/Meshing/GUI: Computational geometry, mesh generation algorithms, graph theory, computer graphics, scientific visualization, parallel programming and experience developing GUI for simulation tools.
- Process: Defect-coupled diffusion/activation, FEM based stress simulation, Software architecture, Numerical methods for process problems.

Qualifications
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must have been out of the paid workforce for at least one year
- Candidate must possess a Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience programming in C/C++.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience of experience in scientific software development, modeling of PDEs, atomistic modeling or in advanced meshing/geometry/GUI.
- 2 years of experience in software development for semiconductor device, process, equipment, thermo-mechanical modeling physics or in advanced meshing or geometry/GUI
- 2 years of experience with scripting such as Python or equivalent desirable

Work Model for this Role
This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
