THC & Protection Engineer for wind farm substations

Job Description
Would you like to help us ensure quality, efficiency, and continuous development within wind power by building grid connections for offshore wind farms?

Join us and become THC (Transformers & HV Components) & Protection Engineer in our Transformers & HV Components team based in Taiwan where you’ll be responsible for ensuring the quality of our high-voltage equipment and protection system for the onshore wind farm substation. You’ll be part of a fast-growing Asia Pacific team and collaborate to a high extent with our expert team in Denmark.

Your key tasks will be to
  • prepare project-specific requirements for electrical equipment and protection, evaluate bids, and participate in evaluation of our potential EPC contractors bid
  • follow project progress, actively capture lessons learnt, and handle change requests in coordination with the project team and back-office
  • ensure quality of components and the protection system and review documentation from the EPC contractor
  • review protection settings as provided by the EPC contractor.

Furthermore, you’ll participate in critical factory and site acceptance tests and in the commissioning of protection systems on site.
Your competences include that you
  • have a relevant degree in electrical engineering or similar and are interested in working with electrical infrastructure for wind farms
  • can communicate and collaborate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • understand local Taiwanese requirements
  • have extensive technical knowledge and experience with design, testing, and installation of high-voltage components and protection system, ideally including experience with high-voltage installations
  • have experience working with EPC projects.

Additionally, you speak, write, and understand English and Taiwanese mandarin fluently. Moreover, working on big wind projects requires good cooperation skills and a flexible mindset, as the work on the project is very varied and we’re therefore looking for someone with personal drive combined with an analytical and responsible approach to his/her work.
