Talent & Culture Generalist

    What you will be doing:
  • Create the essential experience for our internal guests and deliver exceptional service as a first point of contact and becoming a “go-to” contact
  • Master Dayforce, our HRIS and Payroll system, and provide guidance on the use of the application
  • Coordinate the administrative office tasks including mail, email, voicemail, employee files, compliance requirements and office inventory levels
  • Elevate and maintain internal communication modes including internal TVs, boards, and social media pages
  • Lead/co-lead the planning and execution of internal events such as Children’s Christmas party, Annual Colleague Celebration and any other activities held.
  • Engage in hotel wide initiatives and committees including but not limited to: Recognition, Diversity, Inclusion and Equity, Sustainability, Health and Safety, and Wellness
  • Provide office coverage during operating hours at the welcome desk.
  • Responsible for the day to day administration and co-ordination of all activities of the Talent and Culture Department including responding to a variety of enquiry’s from colleagues and prospective colleagues, both in person, email, telephone.
  • Exceeding our internal guests’ expectations for quality service as a priority. 
  • Responding to all requests in a timely and professional manner is essential.
  • Using inspiring and creative communication to support colleague engagement.
  • Responsible for reference and background checks.
  • To complete in a timely manner: 1) employment contract offer letters for new hires 2) departure checklists and 3) all other related documentation.
  • Supports the effective processing of all Workers Compensation claims and assists with the modified work programs.
  • Responsible for the effective administration of the Manulife Employee Benefits Plan including providing benefit entitlement, processing enrollments and claims, and updating employee status, reconciliations and changes.
  • Processing all the claims for Short-term Disability. Responding to general inquiries and effective short-term disability claims management.
  • Ensures the effective communication of the Accor Pension and retirement savings plans.
  • Maintain a confidential organized filing system for employee files, subjective correspondence, policies, standards, regulations and employment applications and training records.
  • Assists in the support and communication of colleague programs including but not limited to, Accor’s Travel Program, Recognition Program, Colleague Service Awards Program, Community fund raising, Retirement receptions etc.
  • Attend meetings and take minutes, distributing in a prompt manner. 
  • Serve as a role model by setting a personal example of service excellence and dedicated to the Accor mission.
  • All other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

  • Human Resources Certificate program or diploma is a definite asset
  • Previous experience in a Human Resources capacity is required
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstration of innovative ways so as to keep things fresh and new is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent work experience in an administrative capacity is required
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft applications for e-mail, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Must possess the ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy at all times and to work in an environment of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to multi-task, remain calm and be focused in a busy office environment.
  • Self motivated, able to work in an environment with minimum supervision.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Must be energetic, creative and maintain a professional presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with peers and external contacts.
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills, a sense of urgency and be able to prioritize.
  • Possess exceptional time management skills
  • Able to work outside of normal office hours, in respect to the needs, and nature, of the business being supported.
