Job Title:

As the Talent & Culture Manager reporting to the Director of Talent & Culture, you are a multi-tasker and are able to work independently performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative duties.  You communicate well with all contacts, anticipate and resolve issues.

What you will be doing:

  • Offering professional, engaging and friendly service to create an outstanding employee experience while assisting Heartists and candidates as they visit with Talent & Culture
  • Acting as a point of contact for Heartists and managers, as well as applicants and visitors, providing the highest level of service
  • Support full cycle recruitment activities within the Talent & Culture department and ensure company policies are followed
  • Post vacancies according to company policy and in various locations online and on job boards in the community to increase candidate flow
  • Manages the recruitment process through our INES Recruitment Platform - screening resumes, interviewing and preparation of offer letters as needed
  • Manage the background check process through InfoMart
  • Administer process – I-9 through E-Verify
  • Facilitate New Heartist Orientation/Onboarding by processing and tracking new hires, communicating with department heads and managers in the process onboarding of new employees
  • Conduct in person training as needed.  Also, set up online training through INES for our Heartists
  • Conduct the All Heartist Orientation Program
  • Collaborate with IT remotely to onboard/off board Heartists
  • Organize employee recognition programs, celebratory events and hotel participation in Community Service
  • Maintain excellent collaborative working relationships with Heartists and related departments
  • Keep all bulletin boards up to date
  • Manage the Harmony – Mood Board (TV in Cafeteria) with up to date information for all of our Heartists
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Administration of the union and non-union benefit changes.
  • Oversees the 401K plan administration for both union and non-union Employees
  • Administer COBRA
  • Foster and promote positive employee relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect and fun.
  • Participate in Union Labor Relations meetings
  • Ensure the Hotel’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS) – Dayforce is up to date to provide accurate employee records that comply with all applicable federal and provincial laws
  • Mastering the HRIS system, including reports and the data input of information (personal action forms, status changes, merit increases, benefits, 401k, new hires, terminations, etc.).
  • Manage Commuter Benefits Transit Program
  • Assists Director of Talent & Culture with administration and support, additional projects and other duties as assigned

 

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources roles, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a  Manager level position
  • Knowledge of local labor laws and employment law requirements
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications - required
  • Ability to create a community which supports a collaborative environment
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English - Bilingual skills is a plus
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of talent
  • Excellent organization skills, Ability to multi-task
  • Multicultural awareness and able to work with communities and people from diverse backgrounds
  • Flexible, able to embrace, and respond to change
  • Ability to work independently with strong initiative

  • The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents. 
  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Candidates will be required to show proof of being vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment per New York City Guidelines.
