Position Overview The successful candidate will assist with a wide variety of tasks which will allow for the development and enhancement of the individual’s financial and analytical skills. They will have the opportunity to assist with full-cycle income tax filing, learn about accounting/tax software such as Oracle, SAP and TaxPrep, and support tax strategy planning. The position is located in Mississauga (on-site/but currently hybrid) and is an 8-month work term commencing January 2023. As the ideal candidate your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Responsible for accumulating, validating, and consolidating financial information for income tax and statutory filings. Assist in analyzing and interpreting financial data. Assist in preparing accounting reconciliations. File, maintain and organize electronic files and records. Use Microsoft Excel to perform analyses with raw data. Assist in other tasks as assigned (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, memos, etc.). Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Currently enrolled full-time pursuing a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Finance, or Accounting from an accredited institution. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship. No relocation provided. Advanced proficiency in Excel required. Preferred Qualifications: Strong analytical skills required. Ability to produce accurate and timely work with an attention to detail. Self-starter, able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and reliability of work performed. Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and with others (subordinates, peers, superiors) in a dynamic environment. Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Possess the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines. Experience in a finance/accounting/tax position or internship an asset.
