Position Summary:
Bentley Systems' Finance Department is expanding and looking to hire a Tax Specialist or Tax Manager in our Exton, PA global headquarters. We are seeking an experienced, energetic, go-getter for the newly created position. The position offers exposure to a myriad of various types of corporate tax compliance in the areas of federal, state, local and international taxes. However, most of the Tax Specialist/Manager’s time will be focused on State and Local Income and Sales Tax matters. During the course of a year, the Tax Specialist/Manager will participate in all aspects of Bentley Systems US tax compliance, planning, financial reporting and controversy efforts. The Tax Specialist/Manager will work with other members of the tax team, as well as the financial reporting and accounting teams, regarding tax compliance and tax accounting issues. Responsibilities:
- Preparation of state and local income tax filings, including extensions and estimated payments.
- Preparation of annual reports, census, property tax and other miscellaneous filings with governmental authorities.
- Participate in Bentley’s sales and use process and address sales tax questions that may require independent research of sales tax laws in various jurisdictions.
- Handle audits for state, local, sales and use tax, &/or, other.
- May assist with preparation of the US Federal income tax filings, including extensions and estimates throughout the year.
- Analysis of general ledger accounts and preparation of tax adjustments for US corporate Federal, state and local income tax returns, and franchise tax returns.
- May prepare quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations, including tax account reconciliations and roll forwards, as well as resulting journal entries.
- May prepare Forms 5471 (average of 54+ CFCs), Forms 8858 (average of 20+ DREs and branches), and Form 1118.
- May assist with GILTI and FDII computations.
- Assist with special projects.
- Continuously look to improve departmental methods for information gathering and analysis through internal and external tools.
In addition, this role also offers an opportunity to:
- Assist with the tax aspects of acquisition due diligence, integrations, compliance, and restructurings.
- Support Tax Planning/Tax Research Initiatives through research and preparation of statistical and financial reports, both on a regular and specially-assigned basis with regard to State and local planning, acquisitions, and audit defense strategies.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and to function independently, demonstrating a high level of motivation for taking initiative.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good computer skills, including working knowledge of CorpTax, Vertex (for sales & use tax), SAP, MS Office, Excel and Word.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three to five years of tax compliance experience in state income and/or local taxation of C Corps with a public accounting firm and/or multinational corporation.
- Exposure to sales and use tax and other miscellaneous tax filings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related course of study. An MS in Taxation or MBA and/or a CPA certification, a plus.
- Good teamwork skills.
- Strong desire to continually improve skillset and grow a career in Tax.
