Introduction to Liaoning University of International Business and Economics
Liaoning University of International Business and Economics (LUIBE) is a comprehensive university under the leadership of Ministry of Education. LUIBE was upgraded into a university from Liaoning College of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in 2004 owing to its fast and sound development. It is the only university specialized in Foreign Trade in Northeast China.

LUIBE is located in Dalian, Northeast China. Dalian is one of the top ten most beautiful cities in China. Dalian enjoys the honor of the best place suitable for living by UN’s evaluation. Being a coastal city, Dalian is recognized as a fashionable and dynamic city with clean seaside, green mountains, amiable weather and some historical sites. The city is attracting more and more international tourists all over the world. The annual fashion festival is getting increasingly popular and important among all the local Chinese and foreign residents. Dalian is on the way to become an international and multicultural cosmopolitan. Currently, there is a big population of Japanese, Koreans and Russians residing in Dalian permanently.

Our university campus sits in Lushun, one of five districts in Dalian. Lushun is well known for scenic spots, peaceful environment, and historical sites. Lushun campus is 45-minutes school bus ride away from the Dalian, where most of the teachers live. The university has 6 school commuting buses taking all the teachers back and forth from Dalian to Lushun. The buses go to Lushun from Dalian at 7:00 in the morning and 1:30 in the afternoon, and come back to Dalian after work at 12:30; 4:00 and 5:20 in the afternoon.

Our university offers foreign teachers apartments on campuses in order to save their bus trip everyday. The campus is about 10 minutes and 25 minutes of walk away from two most popular scenic spots. One is the World Peace Park, funded by UNESCO; the other is Ferryboat Harbour, an ambitious project to roll on and roll off the train on board crossing the Bohai Sea. The foreigner teachers are easy to get everywhere in Dalian because 10 more public buses go to Dalian regularly at different time in addition to our school commuting buses. LUIBE campus is facilitated with supermarket and grocery stores, where life necessity, food and beverage are available. The campus is also equipped with facilities for playing varieties of sports, such as, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, Ping Pong, badminton, etc. The campus itself is a pretty scenic spot, as there are hills, a lake, pavilions and other traditional Chinese establishments. The apartments on Lushun campus are well-furnished hotel-like rooms. Residents of Lushun apartments can also cook watch TV and do internet. All teachers have free and easy access to library.

At the moment, there are nearly 10 thousand boarding students specialized in more than 25 majors in 10 departments in our university. They are from all over China but Liaoning students take up the highest percentage. The students are at the age range from 17 to 22. They all speak English as they have been learning English for more than 6 years. Some even learned English for 8 years, among which 2 years are intensive programs. We believe that most of the students write well, know good English but they need to be encouraged to speak in public and exposed to a better English input. However, there are some students they are not willing to speak, to learn even. Though they won’t corrupt other students as in Asian countries very strict management over students is practiced in classroom.

Every semester our university recruits around 10 foreign teachers. All the foreign teachers work in Foreign Affairs Office. This office believes in Multiculturalism and Professionalism in teaching and management. Following this, English speakers from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and some European countries were recruited to work here, and they successfully built up a multicultural English environment for our students.

Foreign teachers’ supervising Departments are the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Foreign Language. The people in charge from the two departments will of great help regarding foreign teachers’ living and working in China. Should they experience any difficulties in the performance of their duties, please report them to the supervisors immediately because it is our goal that all employees work in a safe and injury-free environment.

We plan to recruit 6 English teachers. We demand all the foreign experts to fulfill the following requirements:


•20 teaching hours (45 minutes an teaching hour ) within 5 days a week
•two hours for attending students activities (English Corner)
•teach students speaking, reading, writing or other courses in English according to our curriculum
•the target students are of 17 to 20 years of age, with 4 to 6 years of English learning
•write the syllabus for the course you are going to teach and submit it to the Department of Foreign Affairs for final approval
•help our college evaluate Chinese English teachers if needed
•write test papers for the courses you teach
•assess students by the end of every semester
•abide by all the working disciplines in our university
•provide good quality of teaching and accept mid-term evaluation from the Department of
Foreign Affairs and Department of Foreign Languages
•accept teaching training program from the Department of Foreign Affairs in order to improve the teaching
•participate office or university activities

We would like to offer the following accommodation:

- 1 bedroom apartment with one sitting room, one kitchen, one bathroom and one dining room for single person
- necessary electrical appliance (fridge, washing machine, radiator, cooking utensils, vacuum cleaner, TV, water kettle, microwave, bath heater etc.)
- free use of water, power, gas, local call (long distance call and international call are paid by users) and internet. To make long distance call discounted IP cards are much cheaper.

Salary (tax not deducted)
- 5500RMB every month for teaching months (20 hours including 2 hours of English corner) or
- still get paid 3800RMB every month in summer and winter holidays (more than 70 days)
- two-way air fair will be reimbursed at the end of the contract based on the price offer from our airline company ( The offer is usually made during August and September for one year’s round way from our local airline company. Before signing the contract, we will conclude a definite number for the airfare reimbursement)
- 2200RMB holiday allowance for 12 months contract
- 1100RMB holiday allowance for 6 months contract
- get paid in Chinese Yuan and free exchange of currency
- 1 week off in Gold Week for traveling during the National Holiday (first week of October)
- 3days off in May for traveling during the Labors’ Holiday (First week of May)
- 2 days off on Christmas Day and all other Chinese public holidays
- free Chinese lessons
- free city sightseeing
