Teacher or Teacher Assistant Opening
Child & Family Services has an opening for a full-time, full-year Teacher or Teacher Assistant
working with children from 0 to 5 years of age at Educare Central Maine.
Responsibilities include responsive caregiving, implementation of Creative Curriculum for
infants and toddlers and implementing OWL and other curricula for preschoolers through a team
teaching approach, as well as, individualizing for diverse learners. Working within a team and
partnering with parents to support family goal setting, children’s health outcomes, and school
readiness for preschoolers is also an essential component of this position.
Minimum Requirements are an Associate’s Degree in Early Care & Education and up to one
year minimum experience in group care setting for young children 0 to 5 years of age. Must be
eligible for Ed Tech II certification with the Department of Education. Must be able to meet
requirements of agency & State Child Care Licensing regulations for background checks,
fingerprinting, and physical exams. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication
(written & verbal) and documentation skills, critical thinking skills, proficient computer skills,
and group management skills.
