Teaching Assistant in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (Ref.: 497027) (to commence on September 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in Journalism, communications, media or a related field. They should have several years of experience as a journalist and a demonstrable record of success in the journalism industry. Native-level proficiency in written and spoken English, strong computer skills (i.e. Excel, Word, CMS) would be essential. They should also be mature, organized, attentive to detail and most importantly have a passion for teaching. Knowledge of Chinese language, web graphics, web design and social media would be an advantage. A passion for teaching is the most important.

The appointee will work with a team of renowned journalism educators and a highly selective international student body. He/she will be responsible for providing teaching assistance on journalism courses, coordinating courses related to journalism writing, conducting tutorials, development and/or teaching new courses, undertaking teaching-related duties; and assisting in research projects, publications and events where necessary.
