Team Lead (m/w/d) Operations


The Team Leader Operations is responsible for carrying out a variety of Inventory Management and Distribution procedures on a range of samples requiring specialist knowledge with a high degree of competence and technical skills.

 
What will you do?
  • Ensure that the operations works within the guidelines of the relevant accreditation bodies and maintain compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Ensure that internal and external quality control processes are scheduled and performed, and that appropriate corrective and preventative measures are taken where necessary;
  • Assist in the production, continuous monitoring and updating of departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms, CSPPs and processes;
  • Take an active role in Biosafety meetings and EHS Risk Assessments for the site;
  • Communicate effectively with departmental and interdepartmental staff and take an active role in departmental meetings;
  • Actively participate in the induction and training of new operations staff and ensure that their training requirements are met;
  • Participate in Continuing Professional Development activities and encourage laboratory staff to also participate;
  • Ensure that standards of cleanliness are maintained within the facilities and that daily, weekly, monthly and annual cleaning, safety checks and maintenance processes are satisfactorily carried out;
  • Ensure that all equipment is used and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines and that all end-users receive appropriate validated training in the correct and safe use of equipment and maintain an accurate log of all equipment;
  • Perform general housekeeping of the computer system and keep an accurate inventory of laboratory consumables;
  • Gain a high degree of proficiency in the In-Trak and GPM inventory management systems and any other software systems used at BioServices

What are we looking for?
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Molecular Biology / Cell Biology / Biomedical Sciences or related subject
  • Clinical/research post-experience;
  • Basic biosafety training course (Art. 29 CO2), equivalent qualification in the area of biological safety or demonstrate a practical hands-on understanding of biological safety would be of great advantage 
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills;
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written);
  • Good standard of English (verbal & written);
  • Good attention to detail;
  • Experience and knowledge in business development and business communication skills.
