Job Overview:
Monitors employee performance and well-being, investigates and coordinates disciplinary actions. Provide labor/management expertise and perspective on other human resources programs to managers and employees. Works with employees and management to help mediate or resolve issues.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitates communication between employees, management, benefits coordinators, and attorneys.
• Provide clear, professional and accurate advice and guidance to management and employees on complex employment related issues.
• Clarifies and enforces company policies, safety and health programs, and disciplinary actions.
• Investigates employee complaints, allegations, and disputes. Recommends disciplinary action based on company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Prepares detailed summary reports and make recommendations to management.
• Documents and maintains Team Member’s records.
• Facilitates and leads negotiations and dispute resolution procedures with employees.
• Review and develop employment policies and procedures relevant to current employment legislation.
• May lead interdisciplinary projects to elaborate concepts.
• Assists managers and employees with performance management process.
• Actively promote and implement HR policies and procedures.
• Participates in hearing where appropriate.
• Brings compliance related concerns to the attention of HR Compliance.
• Conduct exit interviews on all employee levels.
• Conduct research including benchmarking, legislative and regulatory tracking and review.
• Pulls or creates reports and conducts internal audits as they pertain to Employee Relations data and processes.
• Provides guidance to less experienced Team Relations Specialists.
• Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings.
• Will perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources function, or a related area.
- More than 5 years of experience.
- Strong employment law and legislation knowledge, communication skills, conceptual thinking, organizational skills, and conflict management skills.
- SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) is a plus.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
