Job Overview
The incumbent will direct the activities of a team dedicated to the implementation, support, maintenance, and enhancement of the computer systems for SAP Parts Logistics and Finance applications. Ensure the correct functionality of these systems. Design, Implement and support the integration solutions with various SAP and non-SAP systems. Provide leadership, coaching, guidance and support to team members. To complete projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Requires the supervision of 1 - 10 full-time employees and 1 - 10 part-time employees. (15% of Time)
Responsibilities include adhering to the administration of Human Resources policies and procedures by interviewing, recommending hiring, training requirements, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating team/individual, appraising performance, developing team/individual plans for technical and professional skills, recommending rewards and disciplinary actions (addressing complaints, resolving problems, recommending terminations).
- Weekly team meeting to go over the common team projects, policies, announcements, peer-to-peer feedback, etc.
- Bi-weekly 1:1 with individual team members to check on the progress, listen to the challenges, provide feedback, identify areas of opportunities, provide recognition, etc.
- Hiring of new members to the team as needed
- Performance reviews twice a year
- Setting up IDPs (Individual Development Plan), recommend trainings and workshops
- PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) in case of underperforming employees
SAP Systems Development & Maintenance (10% of Time)
Facilitate SAP systems development & maintenance with business, in the area of SAP BASIS along with SAP and ITM resources in order to meet customer’s business requirements. Lead the implementation of technical aspects of the system by maintaining an expert-level awareness of the functionality and system configuration
- Define System Downtimes and work with business to agree upon planned maintenance
- Approve any system related changes
- Assign team members to perform the stated changes on the systems
- Review change implementation reports
- Review system configurations and change proposals
SAP Systems Operations (10% of Time)
Provide expert level SAP technical support for all supported systems of SAP and connected non-sap systems. Collaborate with SI Partner for stable operations
- Set-up and provide shared services for SAP systems service operations
- Collaborate with Daimler affiliates and MBRDI, India to setup a global delivery model
- Track KPIs for tickets
- Escalation management
- Define on-call rotation plan and allocate team members
- Lead MiM process on rotation basis
- Publish Root Cause Analysis and MIM reports in conjunction with SI partner to stakeholders
SAP Cyber Security & System Hardening (5% of Time)
Ensure adherence of supported SAP systems to Daimler Security Mandates by implementation of the Hardening guidelines and adhering to the timelines
- Perform feasibility of the guidelines and assess impact
- Communicate the guidelines and associated changes to processes
- Assign team member to implement the guidelines
Review implementation status and report to management and Daimler Security
SAP Access Management, GRC & Audit Support (10% of Time)
End to end ownership of the SAP access management related topics, processes, tools & support models. Ensure that all systems have SoD implemented & relevant tools to track and report issues. Ensure that basic security concepts are implemented & systems are audit compliant.
- Provide a access management framework for SAP systems
- Work with business & relevant IT teams to ensure SoD compliance
- GRC & IDM system operations including the processes implemented
- Operational support for business users
- Work with ISO & Management on Audits and related topics
Project Management (10% of Time)
Plan, coordinate, execute and communicate the SAP BASIS projects like Hardware migrations, data center moves, etc.
- Manage projects in Basis space to completion, on-time and in-budget.
- Create timeplan for Basis projects
- Align with IT project management
- Allocate team members for various activities
- Submit budgets, review supplier contracts and payments
- Status report projects on weekly basis
Partner Delivery (10% of Time)
Build an efficient working model with SI partner for all SAP related topics, including data center operations. Collaborate with SI Partner for project delivery.
- Establish a stable & efficient working model with SI Partner
- Define KPIs for SI Partner delivery
- Responsible for Partner delivery for SAP systems
- Work with SI partner & Data center teams to have Disaster Recovery mechanism set-up for all systems in scope
Transformation & Stabilization (15% of Time)
Lay a road-map for existing systems based on the technology and platform advancements. Work with SI partner to define the transformation plan. Execute and stabilize
- Define expert level solutions for SAP environments supporting the transformation to future oriented, stable, scalable solutions
- Lead the automation & innovation in the SAP space
- Collaborate with SI partner to implement innovative solutions
Systems Integration (15% of Time)
Ensure that there is foolproof architecture implemented across various integration solutions with SAP systems.
- Secure the integration landscape
- Define the “Right Integration Platform” for SAP systems
- Draw plans together with Data Center Operations, Middleware & SI partner teams on securing the integration/middleware environments in the ecosystem today
- Draw a roadmap for the “end of life” components & also propose futuristic solutions for stable system integrations
