Amgen is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our Global Research IS team. Research IS partners with Research to develop Technology & Data solutions to support the discovery and development of therapeutics. We are looking for an Analyst with a versatile skillset, including technical acuity and excellent learning agility with the ability to lead joint discussions requiring innovative Data capabilities and solutions to scientific challenges. The Analyst will use a combination of prior experience, problem-solving skills, and client engagement skills to drive business strategies to successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Establish & evolve vision & roadmap of Scientific Data Products to enable Molecule and Target Assessment and Progression

• Build product requirements, user stories, and prioritized backlog to advance access of Target, molecule & assay data

• Develop and maintain data products in collaboration with partners & engineering teams

• Partner and guide the implementation of key scientific data access needs through innovative solutions to advance the portfolio

• Provide critical thinking and strategic direction to resolve technical and analytic challenges in support of Research data management

• Optimally work with multi-disciplinary teams that include Project Managers, Business Analysts, Software Architects, Software Engineers, Vendors, Data Scientists, and Computational Chemists, and Biologists

• Ensure effective communication between scientific area management, technical staff, and vendors to analyze scientific needs and implement informatics solutions in data acquisition, integration, and analysis

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate OR

Master’s degree & 2 years of Information Systems experience OR

Bachelor’s degree & 4 years of Information Systems experience OR

Associate’s degree & 10 years of Information Systems experience OR

High school diploma/GED & 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or Engineering.

• 4+ years of Business Analysis experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

• Experience in scientific process & workflow engineering, scientific molecule and experiment data acquisition and analytics, scientific data visualization, and reporting

• Strong data access and reporting experience by using analytics, visualization, and database technologies

• Expertise in translating business requirements to technical requirements and recommend solutions.

• Ability to communicate technical ideas in common terms to business & technology partners

• Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in teams

• Experience using Agile methodologies & tools
