Job Title: Regional Formulation Technical Manager

Report to: Regional General Manager Fortitech Premix

Business Unit: DSM Nutritional Products / Human Nutrition and Health

Location: Shanghai

The Challenge:

• Interacting regionally and internationally on regulatory agency requirements, assessing the changing regulations and differing needs of internal and external customers in a complex environment of DNP with multiple sites and product requirements.
• Good balance between Formulation Technical Management requirements and business costs, priorities and requirements.
• Demonstrate acumen fast pace Formulations control environment.
• Demonstrating Business and Formulations systems competence and responsiveness towards customers, trade organizations and regulatory authorities to position DNP as Formulations leader in its chosen markets.
  

The Position:

• Supervise regional Formulation Managers. Help subordinate them in their formulation activities.
• Coordinate activities with Sales and work with Sales and Customer Service persons to provide technical support.
• Work with Formulation Managers at a global level and provide training as necessary. Train new Formulation Managers for all facilities.
• Provide support to Global Functional Lead Formulation Technical Management and help implement activities as necessary.
• Attend Trade Shows/Workshops to improve technical know- how in the field of nutritional science.
• Work with Sales, Purchasing Managers on a regular basis to support the existing technical department activities.
• Design, establish and maintain an organizational structure, staffing, and the physical infrastructure needed to effectively grow the organization and accomplish the site's goals and objectives. Ensure all resources for the realization of necessary Formulations processes in compliance with requirements set in the applicable laws and applicable GMP’s.
• Develop and implement Formulations system plans to drive “preventive actions” and continuous improvement across the site.
• Responsible to host/manage audits by Formulations regulatory agencies and manage audits of critical GMP suppliers and contractors.
• Assists strategic business leaders in Formulations and operational improvement as it relates to the Fortitech Premixes business strategy. Takes a leadership role in problem resolution and process improvement when customer error occurs
  

The Ideal:

• Leadership capabilities.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Science (BS) degree from accredited university.
• Extensive Operational and Formulations Management experience in related industry (minimum of 5 years as a Formulation Manager).
• Project Management experience.
• Expertise in GMP activities with Food, Beverages, Dietary Supplements and FS 22000.
• Adapt at communicating with senior management and application of diplomacy with external customers and regulatory agency personnel.
• Experience in risk assessment and Formulations System auditing standards.
• Proven Project Management skills.
• Analytical knowledge.
• Training in Formulations systems (i.e. GMP, auditing, standards, regulations etc.).
• Manufacturing knowledge and experience.
