Job Description
We are currently recruiting for Technical Maintenance Support Engineer to join our Siemens Customer Services (Rail Infrastructure) team initially based in Romford, London. Working as part of a dedicated front-line support team, you will work closely with the customer to provide support, advice, system fixes and enhancements to installed Siemens Signalling and Telecoms systems installed on the Elizabeth Line. You will initially be based in our customer premises at Romford RCC as part of a rostered 24/7 support team. Longer term the role location will likely vary in line with contractual commitments and engineering support requirements prevalent at the time. This is your role – what will you be doing? 1st and 2nd line fault investigation to resolve and or advise customer technical officers to assist in corrective maintenance activities 3rd line telephone support to customers on the relevant technology to aid fault rectification Log analysis for fault and incident investigations and subsequent reporting of findings to the client Investigating and responding to formal Technical Questions from the client Look for opportunities to bring more value in any way to our customers System health status checks and shift reporting to Customer Service Maintenance Manager What skills, experience, and qualifications will you need Essential 1st line corrective maintenance experience (rail signalling assets or equivalent preferred) Proven ability to build and maintain a productive relationship with the customer and the Siemens team at different levels of the organization Excellent communication skills and an ability to liaise with varying levels of technical staff and customers The ability to learn new skills and work well in both a team and independently Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to tight time scales Good overall knowledge of IT systems including Communications networks Current and valid IRSE testing or maintenance licence (or working towards) Preferred Current and valid PTS Knowledge of Siemens CBTC Signalling Systems and operational telecoms installations Experience with IT systems, including monitoring and security of Experience with Traffic Management Systems Experience of Railway Operation display systems Electrical Qualifications About us We’re Siemens.
