We are looking for a technical production support engineer for Production Testing & Support team, Product Engineering and Quality, Drive Products.
Production testing and support team is taking full ownership of technical support for our “Order fulfillment process” to ensure that our products are manufactured and tested correctly, with latest design and delivered on time. Team is responsible of testing system and process, production ramp up and ramp down, and production technical support in ABB Beijing Factory and EMS partners.
As a Technical Production Support Engineer, you would provide rapid support for product or test system related technical issues to coordinate Operation, SCM, PE&Q, Product management and other cross function team on production quality issue resolution and drives product manufacturability continuous improvements. This position is based in Beijing.

Your responsibilities

• Taking ownership of technical support for “Order fulfillment process” in Beijing factory.
• Providing rapid support for technical product or testing system related Drive production issues on L3, troubleshooting and keeping manufacturing lines running.
• Providing systematic management methodologies and technical support to drive continuous quality improvement initiatives with manufacturing.
• Managing in yield following-up and continuous improvement based on findings and FPY report.
• Acting as first contract from DP production and interface between different stakeholders and PE&Q on production issues.
• Keeping good co-operation with global support team, ABB manufacturing organization and manufacturing suppliers.
• Supporting certain production transfer or localization ramp up and ramp down activities in Beijing factory.

Your background

• Must have a bachelor/ master degree in Power Electronics, Electrical/Electronic or Automation Engineering is preferred.
• Strong manufacturing and product engineering background, deep understanding of AC Drive technology, 5 years of experience from the related field required.
• Project management certificate and experience is preferred, experience of testing and qualification of AC drives according to internal and external requirements.
• Solid understanding of process and quality aspects of manufacturing and experience of quality management, and knowledge of key quality tools (FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP,8D), and Lean & Six Sigma green belt or above certification is preferred.
• Capability of systematic problem solving and strong ownership and proactive attitude, persistent drive for resolving quality issues on time and ability to coordinate the improvements with cross functions
• Good communication and negotiation skills and having good teamwork spirit required.
• Excellent English and Chinese communication skills required.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, a few weeks per year.
