Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure division is currently seeking a Technical Program Manager for battery products. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility, but remote work on US EST/EDT hours will be offered for this position. Position Overview: The Technical Program Manager is responsible for managing projects critical to the success of the business. In this role, you will require coordination of resources across a range of functional organizations and locations both local and remote. The Program Manager sets up and directs project schedules and budgets leading a team assigned from within the functional organizations responsible for executing various aspects of the program. Essential Functions: Guide an Integrated Project Team (IPT) through strategic decisions related to Eaton’s positioning within the battery supply market Have Responsibility, Authority and Accountability (RAA) for assigned project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments. Lead the Integrated Project Team in a matrix environment ensuring various functional organizations contribute and meet the overall objectives and deliverables of the project. Must be able to direct others without formal reporting relationships across multiple functions and sites. Possess strong analytical skills and strategic business acumen. Must understand complex business plans then recognize inconsistencies and gaps and work with the project and business teams to reconcile them. Manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously to meet defined objectives while prioritizing and resolving conflicts. Estimate, manage and track cost including product cost, project costs, labor and capital. Maintain metrics for project financials, quality, technical performance and delivery through all program stages. Reports metrics regularly in the program information system and review meetings. Identify and secures required resources, prepares budgets and defines schedules to achieve objectives. Establishes and manages work breakdown for all functional areas. Implement effective risk management. Works with the project team to define project risks then proactively identify and execute risk mitigation actions. Coordinates all risks and requirements of the project to achieve project goals. Identify and develop process improvements in the project management area. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of five (5) years combined work experience in project management, product engineering or product design/development. No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Raleigh, NC facility. If outside of the 50 miles, position can be remote. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of battery supply marketplace and market factors. Experience with working with global teams. Experience with batteries, battery systems or power system development, e.g. energy storage systems, UPS, electric vehicles, etc. Experience with process development and improvement. Project Management Certification or training. Exposure to Agile project management. MBA or equivalent experience. Position Success Criteria: Experience managing projects including schedule, resource planning and budget management. Experience with Microsoft Project or an equivalent project management tool. Ability to develop financial and resource models for projects and activities. Ability to identify project risk, develop risk mitigation plans, then effectively communicate and implement those plans. Experience leading a cross-functional team in a matrix organization. Requires an individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive and attentive to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
