Position Overview Siemens PLM is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with specific experience in managing complex software development projects. It is expected that successful candidate be able to quickly come up to speed on the projects they manage, and become valued members of the Technical Project Management Department. The Project Manager should have experience working as part of a larger project management team, be able to handle multiple projects, and able to build consensus in a matrix reporting environment. Responsibilities This role has both strategic and tactical responsibilities. Strategic Contribute to ongoing improvements in our project management practices. Collaboratively contribute to plans for overall process improvement. Contribute to projects to improve our investment in project management toolsets. Promote Quality and Development best practices. Effectively work with a globally dispersed Technical Project Management team. Tactical Ensure that new product features are evaluated, prioritized and completed by the project teams. Develop a project plan and create related artifacts as needed to support the project. Effectively plan projects using project management tools to clearly communicate deliverables. Monitor progress, assist teams with focusing on goals, and facilitate communication throughout the project lifecycle. Manage stakeholder communications including reporting. Exercise best practices in project management throughout all phases including initiation, planning, monitoring & controlling, and closure. Ensure that development processes are followed Manage communication between management, developers, and other technical team members Effectively manage cross-functional teams of varying sizes. Iteratively manage project requirements while keeping stakeholders informed. Effectively assess and manage risk throughout project lifecycle. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience 2+ years software development Project Management experience, preferably Java and C++ (or similar) in a technical environment Held a Project Management specific role of 1+ years. Demonstrated experience working in / managing a team of developers for an agile development environment across the software development life-cycle. Strong communication skills (listening, verbal and written), fluent in speaking English (Verbal, written) Excellent analytical and problem solving skills BS in an Engineering / Math / Science discipline Formal Project Management Education (either on its own or as part of another degree / certification) Approximately 20% travel required (varies with each team) Working toward or have achieved PMI PMP Certification, ability to become certified within 6 months of employment Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Project management certification (PMP / PRINCE2, etc.) 1+ year experience in the CFD / CAE industry. Has successfully managed a Cloud Software / SaaS offering through to market as a Project Manager Technical Management in a Scientific or Engineering focused company 2+ years (could be combined with above) Enjoys networking with peers in the industry to share best practices.
