Eaton’s Battery Center of Excellence (CoE) Division is currently seeking a Technical Project Manager – Batteries. The position will be based at our Raleigh, NC facility and is eligible for a hybrid work setup. The role is offering relocating assistance. Position Overview: Eaton’s Battery CoE accelerates the company’s growth through the development of battery platforms that are battery-agnostic, scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable, as well as standardized design methodologies and tools that can be adopted by multiple business units, which provides a foundation for our business to more rapidly develop innovative products with energy storage. The technical program manager will be responsible for not only developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans capturing key technical requirements and deliverables and outlining project tasks, milestones, status, and resource allocation but also for developing effective cross-organization relationships, efficient collaboration and communication across business and with stakeholders. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, Lithium-Ion battery management system (BMS) development experience, a proven track record in successful project management and implementation, and leadership skills capable of leading a cross-functional project team and communicating with stakeholders. Responsibilities: Develops and maintains comprehensive project plans capturing key technical requirements and deliverables and outlining project tasks, milestones, status, and resource allocation Leads and directs projects to achieve stated goals and objectives Monitors and reports the overall performance of projects. Develop measurable project goals and objectives and creates a performance-based culture. Creates and maintains project reports and presentations Develops effective cross-organization relationships, efficient collaboration, and communication across business and with stakeholders Works closely with Engineering Leads for the design and development of power electronics platforms and building blocks. Contributes to and leads technical discussions as needed, with the ability to easily communicate the decisions and benefits to customers, engineers, and management Supports the Battery CoE manager in developing strategy, direction, and priorities. Creates action plans to drive strategies to realization. Initiates and develops solid relationships with both engineering and business leaders within Eaton to drive the adoption of platforms, common designs, and state-of-the-art design methodologies. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in the development of lithium battery modules/packs/racks and/or battery management system (BMS) Minimum 2 years of experience in program or project management Preferred Qualifications: Experience with safety, compliance, and regulatory standards (UL1642, UL1973, UL9540, etc.) Experience developing comprehensive project plans with high-level technical requirements while dealing with ambiguity Experience working in diverse cultural situations with global customers and team members Design for Six Sigma certification PMP certification Position Criteria: Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual. Understanding of different types of battery technology, their performance, and characteristics Understanding of battery management system (BMS) requirements and functionality Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units Customer focus with good relationship building and communication skills Collaborative orientation, the ability to succeed in a highly team-oriented, global, and diverse environment.
