ABB’s Electrification business is a leading provider of a full range of protection, control and measurement solutions - enabling safer and smarter electricity flow from substation to the point of consumption. We deliver products and systems designed to connect, protect and control electrical systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency and safety for equipment and personnel.
You will lead a national team of Technical Promoters responsible to engage and collaborate with upstream customer stakeholders (consultants, design institutes, engineering/architect offices, authorities, owners, end users etc.) to gather market intelligence and to identify key projects for the purpose of building a targeted quality project pipeline. To influence the key upstream stakeholders on ABB unique selling points via specifications to create market demand. Provide guidance to internal ABB stakeholders on best strategy approach to win. Maintain continuous follow through until the project order is awarded.
Your responsibilities
- Manage a national team of direct reports to ensure the team’s KPIs are all met and surpassed. Anticipates end-customer needs by focusing on proactive promotional activities with the target group. Build project pipeline with target group. Presents and explains the advantages and benefits of ABB solutions/products/tools for the purpose to be specified into the project tenders. Follow through till order conversion.
- Define realistic but stretched targets for all direct reports and provide performance coaching to the team to deliver superior results. Establishes the overall promotional activity implementation plan for the target group. Actively supports Sales and Marketing engagements regarding the target group. Support business development by identifying and creating new business opportunities. Work closely with other ABB units in order to provide a complete and competitive solution, able to identify additional opportunities for business growth.
- Provide guidance and insight to upper management on establishing the strategic direction for profitable growth. Provides a regular report of promotional activities (number of visits, schedules, next steps, number of projects, volume of projects, project specific info) and opportunities and gives/receives information from the sales organization for the purpose of sharing market intelligence.
- Establish a vision for committed, loyal, long-term customer relationships and implements steps to reach the shared vision. Proactively plans for regular customer engagements to strengthen effective working relationships.
- Maintain team success by considering other functions and ensuring cross-collaboration. Continuously develops own and team members technical knowhow and soft skills competences. Regularly informs sales and product marketing teams about targeted on-going projects in focus.
- Manage and drive targeted customer group’s training by conducting regular training seminars in conjunction with appropriate product marketing and segment managers. Regularly reports and updates training information.
- Minimize risks related to promoted products/technical solution and the product portfolio knowhow. Fully compliant regarding to business ethics and code of conduct.

Your background
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Preferred at least 10 years of experience in Technical role or similar fields.
- Experience in managing and coaching direct reports.
- Knowledge in power products, e.g. Power Systems experience in Medium and Low voltage switchgear, low voltage components, lighting control systems, emergency lighting, UPS systems, voltage conditioners, and lightning protection will be highly appreciated.
- Existing customer relationships with Electrical Consultants, Owners and End Users will be highly advantageous.
- Hands-on experience in project management and site service will be beneficial.
- Ability to work in a multinational environment and in a matrix organization.
- Flexibility in travelling within the specified area/country.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
