ITID (Information Technology Infrastructure Delivery) Within HSBC Operations, Services and Technology, ITID implements and manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical to day-to-day operations for HSBC customer and user IT services, ensuring that issues are identified and resolved quickly to provide optimum levels of service with sufficient capacity, resilience and security. The division provides optimized and cost efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases in support of the services that are delivered from its data centers over both voice and data networks to desktops and other end-user devices throughout our business. We are currently seeking high caliber professionals to join our team as Technical Service Manager-DBA. Principle Responsibilities
- As a technical lead to cover all Database responsibility. - Perform installation and configuration changes of Database products including Oracle, DB2, MSSQL and Sybase. - Write Linux/Unix scripts to automate and streamline BAU tasks whenever required. - Perform system administration for Database environments, including house-keeping and trouble-shooting activities. - Liaise with vendors for complex cases for the solutions whenever required. - Provide on-going performance tuning and consultancy on best practices and Group standards on Database. - Document technical guideline and setup procedure.
Qualification
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 10 to 15 years DBA experience in banking infrastructure, especially on Oracle and MSSQL. - Oracle OCM certified. - Good interpersonal, analytic and communication skills. - Self-motivated, positive and flexible attitude with ability to work independently. - Good command of written and spoken English. - Open minded and willing to communicate to various party including other IT Infrastructure Delivery teams,Development teams and vendors. - Customer focuses and commit to the delivery of high quality service.
