Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels. Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services, as well coordinating global procurement efforts. Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs. Reviews and plans requirements for acceptable inventory. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system. May work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Job Description This a key role within Engineering function at Cabot Microelectronics Corporation (CMC) and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the technical relationship with key suppliers. The position would also work directly with our R&D department and global Business Teams to support material (abrasives and chemicals selection at the product innovation stage. This position is responsible for materials selection for better slurry product performance, managing SH&E risks, improving supplier capability and meeting semiconductor industry quality standards. The position will work directly with Manufacturing teams and lead customer and internal issue resolution related to raw materials. The individual will work closely with the Global Materials team and support coordinating with their Supplier as needed.

Primary Job Purpose

1.This position requires technical skills in Abrasives/chemical and/or materials manufacturing along with experience in technical assessment of materials during new product introduction processes.

2. This position is responsible for working closely with other functional groups and participate in cost improvement opportunities and managing supplier via problem solving and communication skills.

3. This position will play a key role in supporting issue resolution on internal and customer issues relating to raw materials.

4. This position needs to collaborate with global multiple functions including Quality, Manufacturing, Commercial, and R&D for continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency.

The key responsibilities

․Main technical interface between raw material suppliers and CMC to assure all requirements for Incoming material quality is met . Collect and evaluate supplier process and product data and have an understanding how the material properties impact Product quality.

․Develop in-depth understanding of suppliers manufacturing processes and reduce/prevent quality issues.

․Build supplier capabilities, and assure they are capable to meet all expectations on quality, cost, and delivery.

Serve as a technical owner for any Supplier changes impacting the raw material

․Build solid relationships with suppliers and interact regularly in order to focus continuous improvement efforts and drive timely resolution of issues

Work closely with other functional groups and collect information for Supplier Score cards. Drive Supplier Corrective actions to completion

․Lead customer excursion investigations related to raw materials, including direct customer interfacing when necessary

․Utilize CMC ‘s quality management processes including audits, FMEAs, corrective actions, scorecards, six sigma projects, management of change, etc to assure consistent and high quality raw material supply.

․ Identify and drive best value and cost reduction opportunities with existing supply base and work closely with procurement group to drive to completion.
