Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
- To perform in-depth troubleshooting/diagnostics/investigations of in-house developed software packages as deployed on customer sites
- To share technical product feedback and lesson learnt within regional customer support teams and coordinated by product company
- Troubleshoot machine to machine communications issues on customer Ethernet networks.
- Advise on and support internal (development environment) and customer (production) server virtualisation environments
- To specify, install and configure computer hardware and software
- To collaborate with Product Company peers to define and execute software test lifecycles, writing test cases and executing test plans, especially in the delivery of customer acceptance of new features and installations
- To collaborate with peers in other locations to develop and run internal and external product training courses, including masterclass workshops, for in house developed software packages
- To collaborate with technical authors to deliver technical content for software product manuals
- To provide customer facing technical pre-sales support, post-sales technical support and masterclass workshops, involving international travel.
- To maintain accurate records of issues from inception to completion using global issue management systems
Skills / Knowledge / Experience:
- In depth experience of installation, deployment and management of Microsoft Windows 2012/2016 Operating Systems (minimum of 2 years)
- In depth knowledge of specifying, deployment, configuration and management of virtual server environments from host and VM perspective (Hyper-V and/or ESXi/VMWare). (minimum of 2 years)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Services and web site deployment/management (http, SSL, troubleshooting, etc) (minimum of 2 years)
- Good knowledge of Ethernet networking (minimum of 4 years)
- Good knowledge of MS SQL Server e.g. T-SQL, DBA (minimum of 2 years)
- Advantageous to have knowledge of Linux OS deployment, configuration and management.
- Advantageous to have knowledge/experience of software development in .NET related technologies e.g
