Siemens Process Instrumentation have a vacancy for a Technical Support Engineer based ideally close to either our Manchester or Worcester offices. Working closely within the Product Management Team supporting our Sales Teams, Projects and Service departments, the successful candidate must be aware of customer needs and will provide Process Instrumentation technical support for colleagues and customers including product application support. Flexible working from home and office is encouraged to allow you to balance your home and work life Reporting into the Product Management Team as well as the Technical Support Manager, the successful candidate will receive full & comprehensive training on Siemens Process Instrumentation products and their application solutions as well as training on internal systems. Training will be an ongoing process and tailored to the needs of the individual. This is a fabulous opportunity for the right candidate. Experience in Process Instrumentation is desirable but not essential for the right candidate as extensive training can be provided for an enthusiastic candidate who is willing to learn & develop. Change the future with us. • Technical Support for the Siemens Process Instrumentation Customer base, External Sales, Internal Sales, Projects, Marketing and Service departments. • Answering technical questions from customers and colleagues by telephone, e-mail and through Digital Platforms including TEAMS. • Identifying sales, marketing and service opportunities during the calls and liaising with the relevant colleagues within Siemens. • Assisting the Product Management Team and learning in readiness for succession planning within the business. • Be involved in providing technical training for customers, Approved Partners and colleagues. • Enhancing the quality of service delivered to Siemens Process Instrumentation customers. We don’t need superheroes, just super minds. • The ideal candidate will have an engineering or science qualification to a further education level, with a desire to learn new subjects and the ability to listen & discuss technical matters confidently with others. Other technical backgrounds may be considered. • It is important that the candidate understands the sales process and has good communication skills with customers by telephone, e-mail and through digital platforms including TEAMS. • Co-operation with colleagues in an office environment and remotely by telephone and video conference is essential. • The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, able to work in a team as well as independently, using their own initiative. • Sound organisational skills, with a methodical approach to handling queries in a wide variety of formats, are essential. • Computer skills, with a good knowledge of standard Microsoft programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel, should be a given, however training can be provided. Ideal Technical experience in the following: • Technical competence in Process Instrumentation Products o Pressure o Temperature o Flow o Level o Weighing Products / SIWAREX o Valve Products • Process Automation integration expertise / awareness • Digitalisation Competence / awareness • Existing / Previous Technical Support or Sales / Product Management Competence in the Process Instrumentation market • Process Industry Application awareness We’ve got quite a lot to offer.
