BD is seeking a Technical Support Specialist with pharmacy experience who will support BD’s Pyxis™ IV Prep guided gravimetrics-based IV workflow management system (IVWMS). This position will primarily focus on all aspects of technical support via telephone and email communication.  The Pharmacist/Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for assisting Pharmacists and Pharmacy staff with all aspects of drug compounding, preparation and verification. Reporting to the Technical Support Manager of Infusion, he/she will collaborate with other Global Customer Services (GCS) Support team members, GCS partners, Marketing, R&D and advanced Engineering teams, in order to develop product expertise and to support the overall mission and strategy of GCS Technical Support and the BD Pyxis IV Prep technology. 

Office operation hours are 6AM-5PM, Monday through Friday. The expectation for individual(s) hired for this position is to work 40 hours per week with the potential for on call after-hours and weekend coverage.

Shift Details: Associates may expect to work a 40-hour week with back-to-back days off but not limited to a Monday-Friday schedule.


Technical Support Specialist

Technical / Pharmacy Skills

Knowledge and/or experience with sterile drug preparation and calculations

Knowledge of pharmacy quality assurance, practices, and workflows

Systems Administrator or Advanced helpdesk technician experience is preferred.

Working Knowledge of Windows 7/10/2008/2012/2016

Basics of Networking/Ports/DNS/DHCP/telnet/netstat

Reading/editing XML

Virtualization/IIS/Website

VMware experience or exposure

Working Knowledge of SQL queries (troubleshooting involves SELECT statements)

Ability to review application and OS logs

Soft Skills


Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate solutions to complex technical problems 
Excellent time management and multitasking skills 

Excellent attention to detail
Strong personal commitment to quality, customer service and patient safety 
Ability to understand and communicate complex technical systems to a non-technical audience

Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor when handling complex user issues and high-pressure situations

Education
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science/Engineering) or equivalent experience required

Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is desired
Preferred Certifications: CompTIA A+, Security +, Network +, MCTS, MCSE
