Job Description

Marvell is seeking a Technical Writer to join the Storage Technical Communication team in Shanghai, China. You would be part of a diverse and inclusive organization, working with people with language expertise, engineering and science backgrounds, and a passion to improve the customer experience. Your work to clarify and improve the descriptions of our chips is key to our success.

Responsibilities

  • Author hardware documentation including data sheets, specifications, errata, and register descriptions. Some software writing (APIs, SDKs) may be required.
  • Analyze raw content from subject matter experts and produce documentation for a technical audience
  • Contribute to documentation development lifecycle improvements that enable efficient delivery of quality information to customers.
  • Develop or test tools that validate reference documentation or automate the production of output.
  • Participate in staff meetings with other writers and publication tools developers to work on next-generation products and document delivery platforms.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as computer science or math, or writing and communication field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years in a technical writing or lead writing role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience:
    • Designing and delivering developer-facing documentation.
    • Using style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style and the Microsoft Manual of Style.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-driven approach, with a winning, positive attitude.
  • Experience working with DITA a plus.
  • Experience working with a programming language such as Python, Java, Perl, JavaScript, or VBScript a plus.
