Siemens Smart Infrastructure What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure: Are you passionate about making technology users and integrators successful? Do you enjoy solving complex technical puzzles and designing engaging, user-focused information solutions? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? If yes, then you might be the person we’re looking for. As a member of the Smart Infrastructure PMO team, you will lead a diverse group of talented, experienced subject matter experts (i.e., engineers, technicians, and project managers.) The team is responsible for ensuring that project teams can execute smart infrastructure system tests to achieve their quality control goals. As the project evolves from device installation to software integration, the documentation and analysis must also evolve. Your development of testing protocols and analytics will be key to the team’s success. Responsibilities: Demonstrate exceptional communication skills in all situations by being a proficient writer who can concisely communicate and manage information throughout all phases of a project. Demonstrate exceptional project management skills by providing clear, transparent, and regular updates on project statuses. Works with project managers to apply technical communication in developing digital solutions that ensure satisfaction for our global customers. Independently lead and manage system commissioning projects from award to close-out and turnover to the project execution team. Partner with engineers to reviews design documents, drawings and specifications building controls system sequences and equipment submittals. Review system sequences and participate in meetings to clarify and improve them. Generate pre-functional checklists and support pre-functional verification of installed equipment. Facilitate meetings to identify and document discrepancies, including generating test reports summarizing quality control through all project phases. Write system-specific functional performance test scripts from design control sequences. Remotely coordinate performance testing with project execution team and subject matter experts. Document system readiness, functionality testing, commissioning, and integrated system tests. Generate and maintain Commissioning issues reports with a focus on expediting issues resolution. Verifying equipment and system start-up work and supporting documentation. Integrate testing and commissioning activities into a master schedule. Solve challenging problems related to system function, user-experience, and training. Contribute to retrospective lessons learned, stakeholder analysis, and process development. Apply cross-functional leadership skills to develop tools for a wide range of user profiles. Demonstrate strong technical aptitude. Demonstrate well-written, collaborative, design-thinking, and research-based approach. Demonstrate solution-oriented approach by emphasizing technically accurate and useful content. Demonstrate ability to write clearly and accurately. Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills (i.e., emails, presentations, workshops). Qualifications: Where permitted by applicable law, Siemens may require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on job requirements, and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reasons Excellent research and interview skills, as well as interpersonal communication skills Working knowledge of building automation systems, security, and fire alarms is a plus Proficient knowledge of Microsoft 360 suite is required (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project) Familiarity with commissioning flow, including functional verification and integrated testing is helpful Ability to work well in a within a remote team and produce documents independently Demonstrated ability to come up to speed quickly on a new project and balance multiple projects Flexible and able to respond professionally and adjust priorities dynamically as required Familiarity with DITA structured documentation a plus High school diploma, state-recognized GED, or state-recognized high school proficiency exam Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization Preferred Qualifications: BA/BS in technical field is preferred Advanced degree in technical communication is a plus OR 5+ years of experience in technical writing OR 10+ years of experience in construction, building automation, commissioning, fire alarm, or security Knowledge of software/electrical/mechanical system testing, excellent writing skills, and document management expertise Benefits: Competitive salary based on qualifications Health, dental, and vision plans Matching 401(k) up to 6% Flexible vacation plan Paid parental leave This job may be based in Colorado.
