The Duty Technician is responsible for the maintenance, replacement or repairs of hotel equipment in particular mechanical equipment such as motors and pumps and building maintenance, activities such as maintenance of ice machines, fitness rooms, hot tubs, saunas, swimming pools, emergency generators, electrical switch rooms and distribution systems, water storage and pressurization systems, water softeners and sewage systems.

The duties include lubrication, cleaning and inspection of equipment, machines or tools. He/she will locate and work on shut off valves for all equipment. He/she shall initiate requests for supplies and parts as required.

The duty technician shall be on-call throughout his working shift to attend to any technical faults arising throughout the hotel. The duty technician will also be required to perform annual, quarterly, and monthly preventative maintenance activities.

The prospective candidates must meet the following requirements:

• He/she should have expertise in at least three of the following skills: electronic systems and controls, electrical plant and switchgear, mechanical plant and engineering, kitchen equipment, refrigeration and air conditioning, and general building service
• Good verbal and written communication skills including fluency in written and spoken English
• Ability to multitask
• Should possess practical problem-solving skills
• Should possess vocational training certificate in electrical/ mechanical/ refrigeration/ plumbing or electronics fields
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in a related field
