Job Description

Eaton’s Power Motion Control division, a part of our Hydraulics group, is currently seeking a Technician – Mobile & Industrial Valves to join our team. This position is based at our Searcy, AR location.

Position Overview:

Eaton, Hydraulics Group, located in Searcy, AR, has an opening for a Technician for the Mobile and Industrial Valves Test Lab. Eaton’s Mobile and Industrial Valves Group includes a broad range of Hydraulic applications including products such as high-pressure and advanced Mobile and Industrial Valve applications, as well as a variety of electronics testing.

This position will be responsible for following standard processes that are routinely conducted on a day-to-day basis.  Technicians are expected to plan proper execution of the assigned job, to follow procedures according to department, division, and Eaton policy, and provide timely preparation of information and documents.

Eaton has announced it has reached an agreement to sell its Hydraulics Business to Danfoss A/S. This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of Q2 in 2021 and this position is expected to remain with the Hydraulics Business and would transfer to Danfoss A/S. upon close.  The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Hydraulics Business when the transaction closes, Danfoss A/S will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

In this function you will:

  • Provide expertise on hydraulics, laboratory practices, and basic electronics.
  • Perform test set-ups to complete specific and standard test procedures.
  • Assemble, re-configure, test, and ship hydraulic valves and other products to customers or other Eaton sites.
  • Communicate test programs to engineering personnel when appropriate to clarify purpose of testing and the required test results.
  • Document and organize test results per standard electronic format for simple retrieval of test history and corresponding data.
  • Complete annual calibration of all instrumentation per standard test lab procedure as required.
  • Complete all internal inspection requests as required by engineering.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the test lab in alignment with lean and environmental, health, and safety corporate initiatives. 
  • Maintain and configure data acquisition (DAQ) equipment

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Minimum education requirement: High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with assembly, testing, and/or troubleshooting of mechanical or electrical components.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within Searcy, AR facility area (50 miles) will be considered for this position.

 Preferred qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Fluid Power Technology, Electronics Technology, Science, Applied Science, or similar from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience with hydraulics, electronics, hydraulic circuits, electronic circuits, hydraulic schematics, electronic schematics including: work, classroom, design project, and internship experience. 
  • Hydraulic specialist certification
  • Familiarity with LabView or similar Data Acquisition systems and other measurement systems

Position Criteria:

  • Familiar with analyzing hydraulic and electronic circuits, troubleshooting elementary product and test problems, and performing data analysis required by the product group.
  • Knowledge of all data acquisition systems (hardware and software) that are being used by the product group.
  • Ability to utilize metrology equipment for inspection, and read an engineering drawing
  • Ability to complete test requests in order to meet committed deadlines
