Job Description
  • Monitor and maintain the normal operation of facility equipment within the complex, and ensure they are operated in a safe and efficient manner
  • Carry out routine maintenance and urgent repair works in accordance with sound engineering practices and occupational health and safety regulations
  • Respond to calls in all areas of the complex including the kitchen and hotel suites
  • Assist the Shop Supervisor in monitoring the contractors carrying out maintenance and urgent repair works and ensure their works are in compliance with the required specifications and standards
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Perform skilled mechanical/electrical work to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, repair, modify, and install machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems in a hotel facility environment following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings. These duties shall be performed using hand tools, power tools, industrial equipment, measuring and testing instruments Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair machinery and equipment. Operate machinery and equipment to determine the cause and extent of component or system failure through testing, visual inspection, and listening for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions. Plan course of action and order the parts required for repairs by researching parts manuals to locate the proper parts, contacting vendors if necessary, and completing any necessary purchase requisitions and work order requests. Dismantle defective machines and equipment, replace defective parts and motors and adjust feed mechanisms following specifications and blueprints, using measuring equipment and tools. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun or other appropriate tools and/or equipment
  • Install, align, tension, and maintain chain and sprocket drives, gear drives, belt drives, flexible couplings, pillow block bearings, shaft assemblies, brake assemblies, and pulleys. Lay out assemblies, install and maintain pipe systems, pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Maintain automatic lubricating devices. Troubleshoot, operate, maintain and/or repair all pumps, motors, valves, and lines used in the distribution of water and heated or processed water following the proper established protocol. Troubleshoot, operate, maintain and/or repair electrical and wiring systems to include but not limited to: program or repair automated machinery and equipment such as programmable controllers, transformers, printed circuit boards, wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery, equipment, and facilities
  • Safely operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Implement and perform preventive maintenance to prevent malfunction and prolong the life of HVAC, refrigeration equipment, Pools/spas, domestic water equipment, systems and structures working order by: conducting routine preventive maintenance, reviewing work orders, changing oil, filters, lubricating, checking and adding fluids, replacing belts, conducting safety inspections of equipment systems and components.Have a working knowledge and understanding of HAZMAT and MSDS requirements
  • Know proper reporting of an accident or emergency. Know and explain the hazards associated with specific types of equipment and tools. Use appropriate tools for the job and comply with all company safety polices. Wear all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required or necessary
  • Wear safety equipment/personal protective equipment, when required or necessary. Perform other related duties as required and requested by MEP Supervisors
  • Safely operate forklifts/man lifts and always wear proper safety equipment/harness. Observe established safety guidelines at all times

Position Requirements
  • Primary School or High School Graduate
  • Certificate in Building Management System or any related certification
  • 5 or more years’ experience in related area
  • Must be familiar with the EBI (Enterprise Building Integrator – Honeywell) Building Management System operation and maintenance
  • Must have wide knowledge in computer operation and graphics
  • Must have a solid general knowledge in electronics, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Considerable knowledge in the maintenance of DDC (Direct Digital Controller), HVAC equipment operation and associated control devices (e.i. motorized damper, motorized valve, sensors, pressure switch)
  • Good knowledge of international building codes in constructions (i.e. electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire), installation, fire, safety and sanitation
  • Considerable skill in use and care of tools and equipment necessary to perform various maintenance and repair tasks
  • Basic knowledge in PLC is advantage
  • Must be computer literate and understand PLC principles
  • Ability to read, interpret and analyze electrical/mechanical schematics, block diagrams and flow charts. Possess basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics. Able to perform preventive maintenance as scheduled. Possess electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
  • Able to make from simple to complex independent decisions regarding equipment troubleshooting. Ability to read, write and understand sufficient English to read machinery controls, load types, temperature, time etc
  • Physically able to stand, stoop, bend, and walk for long period of time in a hot environment. Physically able to push, pull and lift, at times heavy loads throughout the day
