About Baxter’s Cleveland, MS Facility:

Cleveland’s technology and automation is cutting edge.  It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices.   This facility produces a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, tubing extrusion, and device assembly. Our Cleveland plant has been an integral part of Baxter for over 60 years. The work is challenging and rewarding, as Baxter offers competitive compensation and benefits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support to all plant departments.
  • Assist in the design, modification and troubleshooting of precision assembly and/or manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide support for start up and debugging of processes.
  • Support QLP/Continuous Improvement Activities.
  • Responsible for supporting and achieving VIPs.
  • Responsible for supporting and achieving QOS objectives.
  • Must have knowledge of both plant and departmental environmental, health and safety regulations and comply with said regulations accordingly.
  • Responsible for achieving all due dates on assigned projects.
  • Responsible for adhering to FDA Design Control standards at all times.
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining all department SOPs, forms, and log books.
  • Must perform all documentation that is required.
  • Must perform all other duties and responsibilities as determined by supervision/management.
  • Prepare estimates for various tasks and projects.
  • Interface with plant and corporate groups as well as contractors and vendors.
  • Work with manufacturing departments on a daily basis to ensure efficient transition between design phase and final production.
  • Responsible for demonstrating proactive communications and problem resolution.
  • Interaction with plant management for monitoring daily manufacturing activities is necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must work well independently as well as with teams.
  • Work effectively with minimum supervision on a variety of special projects.
  • Must demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and/or repair integrated electrical / mechanical equipment with micro-processor control.
  • Demonstrate proactive communications and problem resolution skills.
  • Have low absenteeism record.
  • Able to formulate plans to solve problems.
  • Ability to learn.
  • Have leadership capabilities.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • AA Degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing or related field.
  • Experience in the fields of process automation, control system design/troubleshooting preferred.
  • FDA manufacturing experience preferred
  • Audiometric testing and hearing protection required
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to lift above the shoulder up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to bend/stoop
  • Ability to reach above shoulders
  • Ability to maneuver around tight spaces
  • Ability to work in unfavorable work conditions (hot/cold temperatures)
  • Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of time
