Job Description
Working under a Scrum Team Lead, this is a key role to inform both strategic delivery decisions and operational management.

You will be involved throughout the delivery cycle from project inception, solution design, delivery, process development and on-going operational monitoring. With a clear understanding on the problem statement, you will elect, identify, collect, analyse a diverse range of complex data. You will recognize trends, identify reasons behind outliers, derive insights and present the information in form that stakeholders can digest.

Your analysis experience will ensure the right decisions are made to achieve the best outcome for the business as a whole. Your influencing skills will ensure business buy in to these decisions and facilitate resolution of any issues. This role will report to a Scrum Team Lead and assist in the team contribution to the continuous improvement of the Technology team performance.

Leadership

  • Proactively identify and engage with appropriate stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Provide support and guidance to technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet the needs of the business.
  • Challenge the status quo and influence process improvement.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements back to AIA’s strategy and business objectives.
  • Prepare and present documentation to succinctly and precisely communicate information appropriate to a range of business and technical audiences
  • Identify opportunities for technical analysis to improve technical and business outcomes.  Effectively prioritise work and deliverables according to specified timeframes

Delivery

  • Contribute to the overall high performance of the Technology team.
  • Provide direction to other project team members and technical staff involved in the solution delivery as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and design decisions.
  • Review requirements and other documents using standard analysis methodologies and tools to identify the technical and service delivery impact.
  • Identify, collect, collate relevant data and documentation to enable informed decisions to be made.
  • Analyse technically focused data to identify trends; gain insights to support informed decision making.
  • Provide options and recommendations to support delivery of project objectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and change management to ensure new and impacted processes are identified and gaps addressed.
  • Contribute to the regular and ad-hoc management reporting.

Process

  • Adhere to project methodologies, including the appropriate SDLC, PMLC and Organisational Change framework.
  • Adhere to ePMO processes, and use of templates and tools.
  • Responsible for producing appropriate documentation to enable all recommendations to be substantiated and traced back to underlying data.
  • Delivery content to improve the customer focused and internal technical documentation
  • Ensure appropriate quality control processes are implemented and sign-off is obtained for deliverables.

Planning

  • Provide both high level and detailed estimates for analysis activities.
  • Facilitate workshops to assist in the data collections process.
  • Maintain knowledge and expertise in all relevant analysis methodologies to deliver on-going excellence in technical analysis.
  • Look for opportunities to share knowledge across the team.
  • Participate actively in the personal development process.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal policies and external regulatory requirements, including provision of support to project and operational delivery teams

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a technology or information science.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a technology focused analysis role ideally working in an agile environment
  • High level understanding of technical terminology and technology used in an enterprise and cloud-based environment.
  • Experience working on projects or process improvement experience of medium to large size and complexity
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills including development of high-quality documentation, proposals and presentation materials.  Competent in the delivery of presentations and proposals to a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated high levels of proficiency with a range of data analysis tools including SQL and Excel.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with demonstrated examples of improved business outcomes resulting from your analysis.
  • Enjoy being self-managing, proactive, inquisitive, thorough, precise, concise and working concurrently on a diverse range of activities.
  • Experience in Insurance or Financial Services industry preferred
