China's technology has grown significantly in recent years thanks to a continued wave of innovative, competitive technology companies. A proper understanding of the state of China’s technology industry and it’s meaning for the automobile industry absolutely essential. The objective of Technology Management is:
- Active scouting of tech-leading Chinese companies to explore new opportunities from business and technology perspective. Ensure early integration into development portfolio and build up potential cooperation.
- Organize cross-department Technology scouting process and tech-scouting related management committees
- Proof of technology feasibility by creating concepts or prototypes jointly with relevant RD departments.
- Support steering of strategic technology roadmap for RD C/T.

Task Description
Technology Scouting
Build-up network with tech-leading companies to identify potential collaboration partners. Provide deeper understanding of the state of China’s technology industry. Organize management company visits.
Technology Monitoring
Organize cross-department technology scouting process. Identify and monitor future technologies based on Mercedes Technology and Product strategy.
Proof of concept
Joint prototyping with RD C/T departments and potential tech-companies to proof feasibility of identified new technology/innovation areas.
Technology roadmap
Support steering process of strategic technology roadmap creation jointly with RDC/T departments to ensure china-fitting product development roadmap
