Provides strategic leadership and overall direction to all Digital Product, Innovation  and Data Analytics activities in support of AstraZeneca’s strategical initiatives, adding strategic value to and implementation support for digitally-based innovation, and engendering a common digital vision, data based powered culture and commitment to high performance across the company.

Fosters a culture of creativity, collaboration and learning in the digital work environment. The incumbent drives the continual transformation of the function and leads the management and enforcement of the Group corporate digital guidance, frameworks, standards and policies, while enabling, local solutions to local problems.

Responsibilities / Functions

  • Define the end-to-end Technology strategy and plan and assure being compliance to the definition

       (with internal and global capabilities).

  • Work alongside other departments to achieve company goals and visions and partnering with other business leaders to agree on IT support for short- and long-term operational needs

  • Develop Advanced Data practice in the company, building data stack and defining together the use cases funnel and successfully exploiting it

  • Provide solution to any complex IT related challenges in the organization

  • Carry out in-depth research to reveal new and better methods of handling functions within the organization

  • Supervise repair and maintenance of all IT gadgets

  • Meeting with technology vendors and external partners to procure IT assets and services

  • Establishing IT policies, technology standards and project governance

  • Identifying innovative technology solutions for business problems

  • Deploys overall data architecture and manages, develops, prioritizes and recommends initiatives to improve and build upon the data architecture to support the business

  • Ensures consistency of process and usage, and champions best practices in data management

  • Oversees data accuracy processes, goals and assessment

  • Ensures resolution of data conflicts between systems and within systems’ data universe

  • Works with internal stakeholders to develop strategies for leveraging data to gain a deeper insight

  • Perform regular IT audit to discover areas of weaknesses and fortify them

  • Ensure that the company’s data and information are protected from unauthorized access

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field

  • Master’s in business administration or equivalent

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in IT operations.

  • Minimum of 5 years in post of increasing managerial responsibility.

  • Minimum of 10 years in a multinational, multi country organization.

  • Demonstrable experience in designing and building cloud architectures, including Data tech stacks.

  • Demonstrable experience in deploying DevOps, CI/CD frameworks and in setting up and lead tech operations, with accountability meeting SLAs

  • Demonstrable experience in successfully leading Advanced Data Analytics teams and in building Data Analytics use case funnel and optimally follow through it

  • Excellent organizational development skills combined with proven ability to succeed in a complex multicultural environment.

  • Excellent ability to collaborate proactively with other business units to better understand opportunities and find solutions

  • Excellent ability to collaborate with global teams to leverage on centralized technology and global experience

  • Fluency in English required, both written and spoken (Level C2)

  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems

  • Years of high managerial responsibility

  • Builds and development efficient teams.
