This is a temporary position for one year with a differentiated schedule.

The Industrial Engineering (IE) Department manages factory capacity strategy and layout planning, equipment purchases and inventory management, and drives efficiency in productivity and cost to meet customer demand. As part of the Assembly and Test Manufacturing (ATM) Industrial Engineer will work across business units to innovate and drive equipment productivity to world class levels. The successful candidate will partner with cross functional groups stakeholders around the globe and locally, having visibility and direct impact to the success of our ATM and our Corporation.

Responsibilities includes but are not limited to:

• Planning plant, production facilities and equipment layouts.
• Determines the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
• Develops metrics to measure equipment and factory capacity and output, and to identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
• May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may plan and schedule training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
• Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. Based on these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
• Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.
• Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

This position requires to work with other factories outside of normal office hours.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Requirements listed above could be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork, classes and/or research projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Product Engineering or related field of study.
• Intermediate English Level.
• 3+ years of experience in capacity planning and volume optimization based on manufacturing needs.
• 2+ years of demonstrated equipment forecasting experience.
• 2+ years of experience in scheduling, prioritization and decision making based on manufacturing needs.
• Unrestricted Costa Rica Work Permit.
• Position requires to work with other factories outside of normal office hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated proficiency on manufacturing capacity management in a dynamic environment.
• Problem Solving Methodologies and Data analysis (JMP, SQL, pathfinder, others).
• Knowledge of asset management.
• Demonstrated proficiency on manufacturing capacity management in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge in capacity planning and capital equipment management.
• Manufacturing environment or supply chain.
• Factory Physics knowledge.
• Experience working with other geographies.
