Responsibilities:

• The Learning Support Teacher is to support an individual Primary School student in class and during non‐structured times at school. He/She has to work closely with the student’s teachers, parents and Learning Support Team (LST) to implement the individualized support plan.
• Build strong rapport and positive relationship with the identified student
• Help or teach the student to communicate his/her emotions and needs using appropriate means
• Support class teachers in the implementation of differentiated learning and support strategies
• Work in partnership with teachers and LST to implement aspects of learning plans for the student
• Communicate regularly with Assistant Principal Primary, LST and teachers, and also with parents
• Document the students’ progress clearly and participate in the case review actively making suggestions
• Respect confidentiality and be diligent on the information sharing or release when working with different people
• Attend case conference and meetings as required, and actively seek in house Professional Development or professional learning opportunities in the field of learning diversity

Requirements:

• Possess strong teaching capabilities with some knowledge of students with learning diversity
• Understand the ISF Primary curriculum and learning programs well
• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to relate well with the student, teachers and parents
• Demonstrate the flexibility and adaptability to sensibly adjust the intensity of support required in class

• Contract Period: January 2020 to June 2020
