This position is responsible for driving a profitable business growth through the tender/bidding channel. Enable market access and perform strategic management of the tender business in the Hong Kong & Macau. Key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Understand tender landscape in the region with respect to public vs private, types of tender (price-based, volume based, market access-empanelment) and systematically track and monitor ongoing and expected tenders across all levels

  • Understand the policy and regulatory requirements for tender programs. Knowledge of tender contractual obligations (e.g. penalties)

  • Establish and manage relationships with external stakeholders (hospital procurement, industry associations, doctors at govt institutions) involved in the process of tender bidding

  • Facilitate improvement of tender specifications, tender process to optimize overall healthcare outcomes for community and government

  • Identify full scope of tender opportunities in the region

  • Structure market access strategy for Abbott based on expected tenders at all levels

  • Manage and utilize data for tracking tenders, the results, competitor information and changing compliances

  • Develop strategy to maximize participation, revenue and profitability from tender sales through decisions with respect to which tenders to participate, must-win based on internal capabilities and market dynamics

  • Drive the tender business to optimize revenue and profitability

  • Classify high-low probability tender win rates based on market access, ability to fulfil tenders

  • Drive tender process to ensure accurate documentation and timely and quality submissions and follow-ups for rebidding, negotiations

  • Ensure timely implementation for winning bids e.g., additional documentation/financial obligations, sales to individual hospitals for quota fulfilment, on-time in full supplies, timely collections

  • Co-ordinate with cross functional teams at country, regional and global level for tender fulfillment

Requirements:

  • University degree in Science, Health Sciences or Business, Medical Professional

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of tenders contracting/commercial/sales/marketing in healthcare sector.

  • Strong analytical mind to resolve business challenges and able to work under pressure

  • Strong sense of responsibilities, self-motivated

  • Passion for the business and willing to go for extra mile

  • Proficiency in Chinese and English
