Job Description
Engineering Discipline Planning Office (ENG DPO) supports the strategic and academic development of the Engineering Discipline in major areas including internationalization, industry partnership, quality assurance and accreditation, student industrial attachment and graduate employment, applied research, and other activities related to marketing and promotion of the Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET). ENG DPO is serving as a central coordinating unit for all construction and engineering departments of the Engineering Discipline in different IVE campuses.
Major Duties:
(a)
To provide support in one or more of the following areas:
(i)
general/ course administration;
(ii)
student affairs and admission;
(iii)
book-keeping, supplies and stores administration; and
(iv)
liaison, promotion and publicity work;
(b)
To assist in providing secretarial support for committees, boards and meetings;
(c)
To provide support in coordination of events and promotion activities for students, employers and other stakeholders;
(d)
To handle enquiries; and
(e)
To prepare simple correspondence/ statistics/ reports when required.
Requirements:
(a)
(i)
5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) at Grade E / Level 2 or above, including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent; OR
(ii)
A combination of results in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination at Level 2 or above in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” or above in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E or above in Other Language subjects, and the 5 subjects should include English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics; OR
(iii)
A recognized Certificate / Diploma / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate, or Project Yi Jin;
Completion of Hong Kong Vocational English Programme (HKVEP) at Level 2 / Passing 5 specific VTC’s Vocational English Module Certificates is considered an alternative qualification.
(b)
Proficiency in computer software application, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; and
(c)
Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Notes:
(1)
Applicants without the academic qualifications required but have completed Form 5 or equivalent may be considered for the post of Term Executive Assistant III.
(2)
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a Computer Skills Test (CST) including document formatting, English and Chinese typing, and use of spreadsheet.
(3)
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
(4)
Preference will be given to applicants who have relevant work experience and are immediately available.
