The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers 21 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2020/21 academic year, ten programmes will be included in the HKSAR Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $42,800 to $74,600 per year. Major Duties:
The appointee shall report to the Principal Investigator (PI) with the experimental and analytical findings. He/she will support PI to perform co-hydrothermal treatment of plastic waste and discarded EV batteries for fabrication of high-performance energy storage materials and energy storage devices. He/she will assist in parameter optimisation of co-hydrothermal treatment, synthesis and characterisations of energy storage materials, energy device fabrication and electrochemical performance evaluation. He/she will also be required to collect and analyse data, prepare progress report and manuscript, and perform other research duties as assigned by the PI.

Requirements:
For the post of Term Senior Research Assistant, applicants should have a Doctoral degree in Environment Science, Environment Engineering and Management, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Applied Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, or related disciplines; or a recognised Master’s degree in related disciplines with relevant work experience; or equivalent.

For the post of Term Research Assistant I, applicants should have a Master’s degree in Environment Science, Environment Engineering and Management, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Applied Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, or related disciplines; or a recognised degree in related disciplines with relevant work experience; or equivalent.

For the post of Term Research Assistant II, applicants should have a sub-degree in Environment Science, Environment Engineering and Management, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Applied Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, or related disciplines; or equivalent level of study.

Candidates should have research experience in solid waste management and/or energy storage materials. He/she should also have good interpersonal and social skills, as well as proficient communication skills in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Notes:
(1) Candidates may be appointed on temporary or part-time employment.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee will work on Tsing Yi Campus.
