Eaton’s Electrical Sector - Canada is currently seeking 2 Electrical Testers to join our team. This position is based at our Edmonton (EPC), AB location. Position Overview: Under the general direction of the testing team lead, this position is responsible for conducting all EPC testing work to ensure continuity of the production line, as well as meeting the expectation of Eaton’s High 5 areas of focus: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity. Obtain product manual and material required ahead of time to prepare for product testing. Coordinate with team leads to prepare for testing. Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and fully functional prior to testing. Ensure all electrical testing complies with Eaton electrical testing safety practice. Ensure daily labor hours of different tasks are logged accurately in time sheet accordingly. Complete and file test documentation accordingly and submit as-built drawing to COE. Assist production to perform other duties as required to meet shipping schedule. Maintain all testing equipment and testing Standard-Work, as well as periodically updating Eaton testing manuals. Complete a variety of electrical tests including: Hipot, Megged, Partial Discharge and Basic Insulation testing. Actively participant in Safety and Gemba Walk program. Qualifications Basic Qualifications 2-year post-secondary education in electrical engineering related discipline or electrical technologist. Combination of high-school and experience in a similar industry may be considered. Equivalencies will also be considered. Basic knowledge and skills in MS Windows and MS Office is required. A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in electrical testing environment is ideal. A combination of education and experience may be considered Be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship. No relocation allowance is available for this position Preferred Qualifications: (preferred experience but not required) Master Electrician certification Position Criteria: Effective English communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent oral, written communication, and listening abilities. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Demonstrates continuous learning through cross-training, learning new skills, and refreshing prior skills. Good analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Problem solving skills: problems are solved within general policies and rules under general/limited guidance.
