You provide research work in the area of sustainable programming and energy-efficient computing Your main task is to provide an in-depth view on multiple different aspects having effects on energy efficiency of computing systems, e.g., energy footprint of software, hardware, runtimes, programming languages, container size footprints, etc. You evaluate new technologies, tools, and reference concepts for Edge and Cloud systems by means of OSS software, user documentation, internet research, source code and, if applicable, own prototypes. You will structure, evaluate the collected information, and prepare it in a high-quality manner You document your work and communicate it with the relevant stakeholders We don’t need superheroes, just super minds. You have a first university degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, or engineering sciences You have sound hands-on experience in implementing programs with C/C++ (this is a must!) You have hands-on experience with runtime and analysis of software (profiling, tracing) You have deep knowledge on OS internals (e.g., system programming), containers, etc. You have no problems to start the design and implementation of a solution from scratch Ideally, you are familiar distributed algorithms, the RUST programming language, energy-efficient computing (not mandatory) You speak either very good German or very good English We’ve got quite a lot to offer.
