Job Description
Mode of Employment: Limited Use your knowledge as a springboard. Do you like the sound of finding the smartest solution side by side with professionals and experts? If so, complete your bachelor’s or master’s thesis with us. We can help you to combine knowledge, discover connections, and formulate ideas. When you join our team, you will gain an insight into a range of departments and processes. It is a chance like no other to break new ground as we head into the future of electrification, automation, and digitalization. Seize this opportunity today! Change the future with us. Applying deep learning models for autonomous railway vehicles poses a high-quality standard beyond detection accuracy. The model is often expected to be robust against potential perturbation in the input space once the model is deployed. We are specifically interested in quantifying the upper-bound of various perturbations provided that the model remains robust in its detection. In this master thesis, you will support us in research and development of novel robustness metrics and verification algorithms, as well as in evaluating these approaches on existing detection / segmentation models and real-world datasets. What you need to make real what matters. You are studying Informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar courses. You have hands-on programming experience in python, especially PyTorch. It would be a plus if you are knowledgeable in at least one of the following fields: computer vision, segmentation or detection models, numerical optimization, software development. You are fluent in English and/or German. Make your mark in our exciting world at Siemens. www.siemens.de if you wish to find out more about Siemens before applying.
