Job Description

IoT and Developer Environments Software Engineering within Intel's Developer Software Engineering group is a software engineering organization focused on delivering utilities, IDE extensions and other developer environment enhancements that decrease time and complexity for software developers to access key features of Intel silicon. We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead and direct a team of engineers working on a current set of exciting software projects with new projects expected in the future as we learn more about our customers.

A successful candidate should have:

  • Strong leadership and team building skills, capable of working with cross-functional and cross-geo teams to achieve common goals

  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills in English

  • Effective problem solving skills and results-oriented mentality

  • Basic understanding of computer architecture


Responsibilities:

  • Set priorities for the team, get results across geographic and org boundaries, ensure inclusive work environment, develop employees and manage their performance

  • People management including hiring talent, growing, motivating, training, mentoring people, providing guidance to engineers on project execution, and performance evaluation for the team

  • Closely work with Product Owners, Architects and Program Managers on project planning, assigning resources, tracking deliverable, managing risks and resolving issues, driving development process and product quality

  • Be ready to meet new challenges and adapt, work within a highly dynamic environment

  • Drive strategic initiatives, provide direction and goals to the group and interact with stakeholders both internal and external

Qualifications

  • Master's or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 3+ years management or team leadership experience and a proven track record of leading a team to deliver software products

  • Sufficient demonstrable skills in spoken/written English as expected in a technical business environment

  • Experience with presenting technical status and other material in English

  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of C/C++, heterogenous computing and Intel architecture

  • Experienced and knowledgeable about software product life cycle, Agile Scrum methodologies

Work Model for this Role
